Winter Weather in Panama City Beach

Here we are about a month into the winter season and while most of the country is shrouded in snow, ice and freezing weather, Panama City Beach and Florida, in general, is the only state in the United States currently with no snow or ice. Even Hawaii has snow on the mountains right now, but Florida has no record of snow or ice anywhere in our state.

A lot of people escape to Florida this time of year to get away from these cold temperatures. Even though our weather is not what you’d find in July and August (and many people are thankful for that) we are still a little bit chillier than the spring and fall. Over the last couple of weeks, our highs have been in the mid-70s with lows around 60°. Most days are fairly sunny or partly sunny and we do have the occasional shower from time to time. As of the publishing of this post, our high today’s only about 65 with a 20% chance of rain.

Our humidity, however, does stay a little bit higher so it gives you the feeling of that warm coat wrapped around you. It’s still perfect weather for playing in the waves and in the ocean, enjoying a cocktail in the evening out on the veranda of your hotel or condominium and it’s great weather for shopping and enjoying some of the outdoor activities around Panama City Beach.
