The Kaleidoscope Theater, founded in 1971, offers a variety of musicals and performance plays throughout Panama City Beach. In 1989, the Kaleidoscope Theater had grown to the point of needing a larger facility and open their current facility with the production of the Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. Originally a church building (snicker), it now serves as the production support facility and focuses on current fundraising efforts throughout Bay County.
The term “kaleidoscope” was used as the name of the theater for a unique invention that creates patterns of light and color in an ever-changing series of visual treats. The name certainly said the theater’s colorful traditions.
If you’re looking for something fun to do this winter season and are little tired of the beach check out the Kaleidoscope Theater. There’s always something new happening and unique plays and musicals going on year round.
