Invented by a man stricken by polio, a wheelchair designed to ride on the sands of Panama City Beach has been approved for use by city and county officials. The uses of this wheelchair are many, providing very valuable assistance to the many physically handicapped visitors who come enjoy visit here.Not only can they appreciate the amazing views of the Gulf from the balconies of their accommodations, they now have the opportunity to get right down onto the shore of the World’s Most Beautiful Beaches. This specially designed vehicle has enlarged tires designed for travel along the beach and can travel about 3 mph on the sand. For now, only this specific vehicle has been approved by Panama City Beach officials. If other vehicles come along that will assist handicapped visitors navigate the sand, each will have to be individually approved for use on the beach. Get more info here.
