To the delight of a legion of fans spanning several decades, the famous “Starliner” roller coaster, shut down with the demise of the Miracle Strip Amusement Park in 2004….is coming back to life! A small section of the coaster was on display at a recent groundbreaking ceremony at a 13 acre site at Pier Park. The new spot for the roller coaster will also be the relocation area for the existing “Miracle Strip at Pier Park” which already has several rides that were saved from the classic old park located on Front Beach Rd. Those rides will soon be moved a short distance to their new home and will eventually share the 13 acres with the much loved original Starliner roller coaster! The coaster will take about 18 months to assemble and test for an expected opening for the summer of 2015. We will have more reports on this exciting news as things progress!
