We want you to have a fun vacation when visiting Panama City Beach whether you are here for the weekend or for a month. Here are some tips from previous vacationers on what you know and remember when visiting Panama City Beach.

The water temps are close to 80°. This is pretty much year-round but of course in the summer it can warm up a little bit more and deeper depths can get colder. Shallower areas by the beads will get the warmest so dress appropriately and make sure you wear sunscreen.

September is one of the best months to go fishing if you’re planning on getting a wide variety of fish. The red snapper will be open in state waters only out to about 9 miles on the weekends starting Labor Day. There are several captains and great charter fishing options all up and down the beach so be sure to call if you’re looking to catch a specific fashion on the best times to go.

A local hangout not to miss is Dees Hang Out and if you’re interested in hiking or getting close to nature the Conservation Park and St. Andrews Park is certainly one to check out.

If you’re looking to get out of town the small city of Destin is great for outlet mall shopping, Baytowne wharf, dueling piano bars and a great night life.

If you’re traveling with small children under five years old the zoo world is a great place to check out as is Gulf World with the life and of course the waterpark at shipwreck Island. Many of the restaurants in Panama City Beach are family-friendly as well as being right on the beach. The Splash condominiums and resorts are a great place for little kids as there are so many water parks, swimming pools and water activities.

If you love seafood there are numerous places including the one we mentioned before Dees Hang Out in addition to uncle Ernie’s, Hunts, Hognose Snapper, Billy’s Oyster Bar and Captain’s Table. If you’re looking for great seafood there are plenty of options plus down at Pier Park you can get your shopping, entertainment and seafood in at Hook’d.

Something to remember if you’re going to be down on the beach that they only allow alcoholic cans on the beach, no glass. There was a ruling during spring break but that is now listed and you can enjoy your alcohol on the beach.
